As an associate at the firm, Kari Mellinger draws on her unique career background to guide families through the Social Security Disability process. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Mellinger worked for the Department of Human Services (formerly the Department of Public Welfare) as a caseworker, assisting individuals, families and disabled children during unexpected times of financial hardship. Ms. Mellinger's experience as a caseworker inspired her to pursue a legal career. As a Social Security Disability attorney, she continues to help families by representing them through the often arduous process of obtaining Disability benefits.
Ms. Mellinger understands that the onset of disability, either through illness or injury, brings about mixed emotions for an individual who has worked throughout his or her life and is now unable to do so. The skills she learned as a caseworker allow Ms. Mellinger to be a patient and empathetic listener, as she assesses her client's individual circumstances and prepares to represent them at the Disability hearing. Ms. Mellinger's focus on learning each client's unique story allows her to provide passionate representation as she fights for her clients and their families.
Ms. Mellinger received her undergraduate degree from Miami University in 2004. She graduated Cum Laude from Widener University School of Law in 2013. Kari resides in the Harrisburg area with her husband and their son.
