The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program
As part of the effort to encourage people to follow the recommended vaccination protocols, the U.S. Government created the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP). VICP allows the victims of vaccine injuries to get compensation without having to prove that a hospital, doctor, nurse or drug maker was at fault for the harm. The no-fault option removes one obstacle to vaccine injury victims when it comes to getting proper compensation. The VICP covers a predetermined list of vaccines, including:
- Diphtheria (DTaP)
- Hepatitis A and B
- HPV
- Seasonal Flu
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Polio
- Rotavirus (RV)
- Tetanus
- Varicella (VAR)
The program does not currently cover Covid vaccination injuries.
In addition to only covering certain vaccines, the program only applies to people who suffer severe and established side effects. A petition can be filed if the victim experienced the following:
- Injury lasting 6 months or more following the vaccination
- Inpatient hospitalization as well as surgical intervention
- Death
